Elaina Black and her barrel racing partner Possible Rockstar tore up the arena in Cardston, AB to take home the South Country Derby Championship.\u00a0\u00a0 The duo placed 2nd in the first round and 4th in the second round.\u00a0 This put them into the number one position headed into the 12 racer Short Go.\u00a0 They ended up having their best run of the weekend in the short go, to take the short go championship and wrap up the average title for the championship.<\/div>\n

What made you decide to attend the South Country Futurity\/Derby?
\nI had plans this year to try and enter all of the Derbys but my favourite one buy far has always been South Country I’ve always had good luck there and they do such a good job running things and there prizes\/money is fantastic!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What is your horse’s registered and\u00a0 barn name?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

My horse name is Possible Rockstar aka “Rocket”<\/span><\/p>\n

-How long have you been running barrels on him and what is his training background?
\nI bought him as a yearling started and trained him myself and have been running him since his futurity year.<\/span><\/p>\n

– How would you describe this horse’s running style and what do you like best about Rocket?
\nHe really stands up around his barrels handles bad ground well and truly is the easiest horse I’ve ever run on barrels but to be around him he is quite spooky!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

– Which run of the weekend was your favorite and why?
\nMy favorite run of the weekend was in the short round there wasn’t to much to pick apart and he just took care of business!<\/span><\/div>\n
