{"id":509,"date":"2011-07-08T08:39:00","date_gmt":"2011-07-08T14:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rodeoclassifieds.com\/blog\/?p=509"},"modified":"2011-07-19T13:19:50","modified_gmt":"2011-07-19T19:19:50","slug":"the-calgary-stampede-gets-underway-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rodeoclassifieds.com\/blog\/the-calgary-stampede-gets-underway-today\/","title":{"rendered":"The Calgary Stampede Gets Underway Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rodeoclassifieds.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Stampede2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-511\" title=\"Calgary Stampede\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rodeoclassifieds.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Stampede2-300x144.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"293\" height=\"141\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.rodeoclassifieds.com\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Stampede2-300x144.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.rodeoclassifieds.com\/blog\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/Stampede2.jpg 584w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 293px) 100vw, 293px\" \/><\/a>The 2011 Calgary Stampede gets underway this afternoon with the first rides and runs of the contestants in Pool A.\u00a0 The contestants will be giving it their all in hopes of qualifying for Showdown Sunday where they will have the chance of winning $100,000 and the Calgary Stampede Championship.\u00a0 Draws and results of each round for each pool are listed <a href=\"http:\/\/cs.calgarystampede.com\/events\/rodeo\/results.html?year=2011&amp;day=8&amp;event=SB\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rodeocanada.com\/\">CPRA<\/a>) only has one pro rodeo taking place this weekend which is in Benalto, AB.\u00a0 The draw for this rodeo (and results which will be posted next week) can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rodeocanada.com\/rodeo_schedule.htm\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the Canadian Cowboys Association (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadiancowboys.ca\/\">CCA<\/a>) contestants will be driving to Wood Mountain and Moosomin, SK to compete.\u00a0 Wood Mountain&#8217;s slack performance starts this afternoon (July 8th) and has two more performances on Saturday and Sunday.\u00a0 Moosomin&#8217;s first performance gets underway tonight also with a slack and a performance happening tomorrow (July 9th).\u00a0 Results for these rodeos can be found next week <a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadiancowboys.ca\/schedule.htm\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Lakeland Rodeo Association (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lakelandrodeo.com\/0000pg.asp\/ID\/48224\/SID\/8076\">LRA<\/a>) and the Wildrose Rodeo Association (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wrarodeo.com\/index.html\">WRA<\/a>) have three rodeos happening this weekend that are all dual approved with each other.\u00a0 There is a Finals Tour taking place in Cloverlodge, AB July 9-10th.\u00a0 There is also a rodeo in Hardisty, AB taking place July 9-10th.\u00a0 Goodfish Lake, AB will start tonight (July 8th) and go until Sunday, July 10th.\u00a0 Results for these rodeos can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lakelandrodeo.com\/0000pg.asp\/ID\/48227\/SID\/8076\">here<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wrarodeo.com\/SchedReslts.html\">here<\/a> next week.<\/p>\n<p>Good luck to everyone competing this weekend, and be sure to stay tuned to the blog for updated information regarding the Stampede!<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget to &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/rodeoclassifieds\">Like<\/a>&#8221;
