Great idea Dms, unfortunatly there are no dairies around this area.
What other kind of feeds have any of you used at this age?? (she is 5 days old now)

about $50 for a 10kg pail/bag, my vet recommended milk pellets as well, but I am finding it hard to find a supplier.

We unfortunatly lost our mare during foaling on Mothers Day, of all days :( But on the positive side we were able to save the beautiful little filly. I was able to milk the mare postmortum and got a good litre of colostrum, which we bottle fed to her,and then quickly got her drinking out of a bucket...

Leasing a horse- Need info please

I am wondering what I should charge to lease out our horse. He is a 17yr old all-around horse. The family is looking to use him for break-away. And maybe buy him. I am just needing info on a contract to draw up or going the insurance route. And what to charge monthly? What are your thoughts? Thanks ...

Here is a few questions: When you are all talking grain, are you meaning, just plain oats? Also, do any of yous feed the Hofmans to your horses that you are not riding at all? They are probly from the pine trees, if you have them around. They get them from the trees. Get the powder stuff, and use gloves and rub it along their backs. Probly have to do it twice to get the babies(or whatever they call them)out. It works good.

Well from my experiances with them, there is nothing you can do. I have horse with them, young and old, and they will just go hard and hopfully not cause any pain when you use them.
