Rate & Leads

I have a very well trained just turn 5 year old reining gelding (basic reining so no slides, things like that) he's perfect on the flat knows every cue and does it great, now when I put him on the pattern, everything's gone, he trots it good, ask to lope he does not switch leads in between the barre...

Futurities

I have a horse that qualifies for barrel futurities its something that I have not done in the past with previous horses I am wondering what the benefit of it is and if I could get input and info from anyone about them I have very little knowledge about it.

Weight Gain Feed

What does everyone recommend for a good weight gaining feed along with hay? I took my young horses blanket off and apparently his buddy has been eating both of their shares, I started him on beet pulp/hoffmans a week ago, what can I add to that for some serious weight gain?

Supplement/Feed

I am looking for something mainly for weight gain, stamina and muscle gain for a hard working 4 year old turning 5. I was thinking Equine Power 2000 would be a good option I have used it before, but is there anything else that could be recommended?

Right leg stays on the cinch and left leg goes back it works because I've been doing that.

Re: switching leads for second barrel

I will start working her going to the left now then, I just thought going right would help her change become stronger on the left lead but since she's got better balance and strength going to the right that will mean our turns will be better go left first. Ok, easy enough. And if she does still have...

Re: switching leads for second barrel

Asking for the lead I come down to a trot and then cue with my right leg on the cinch and my left leg behind the cinch keep my reins steady and she does get it. When I'm just riding her around she will pick it up if asked correctly otherwise on her own it will be right lead.

switching leads for second barrel

I've just started my horse on the pattern and have been trotting the pattern on her and have loped it a few times, she doesnt like to pick up the left lead so I take her to the right barrel first so that shes on the right lead and has to switch to the left, the problem I'm having is that she isn't s...

Re: Abscess

If you have already x-rayed the foot I have a great abcess formula to draw out and dry up the sole! PM if you know he's clear through x-ray.... unfortunately I've dealt with about 20 abcesses in the last few years for different reasons and it sounds more than just an abcess. I had the vet come out ...
