Any horse leaving the province of Alberta needs to brand inspected on permitted. You can get yearly or lifetime permits for you horse if you are consistently hauling the same horses back and forth. Contact your local brand inspection office for details.
Any person that applies a unregistered brand can be subject to a fine. And age or number branding is supposed to be applied to the same side of the animal, that the owners registered brand is on, but on a different location.
