Re: Saddle to fit wide shouldered horse

I was having the same problem so I bought a Crown C with an 8-1/2" gullet. I have to say I don't think I have really felt this horse move freely until now.

Re: need opinions on trailer buying

We have an 8' shortwall with the dinette. It is 8 wide. I would not go any narrower if you are wanting the dinette. It is me, hubby and one son. We live for a week at a time in it when we go camping and it is plenty of room. My only regret is that we didn't go 10' to get the 6 cu ft fridge as the 3 ...

HOrse Folding Up

I have a young gelding that I have started on barrels. I have a problem with him folding up when we come around the barrel - meaning tucking up his head, arching his neck right to his chest and almost stopping the forward motion. I have tried a couple of different bits on him and he even seems to do...

Re: Bad little bucker

Well I completely understand what you are going through. Been there! I was at my wits end and was going to sell this new horse that I bought in Feb. Had a total write off for the summer cause I wouldn't ride him (after I had rode him since Feb. and all was excellent). I thought I really like this ho...

Saddle Fitting

Hi there, I am in need of some advice. Pardon me for having such a lack of knowledge in this department but I have rode the same horse with the same saddle for the last 15 years. I bought a new horse and he is very wide flat backed, he has a decent wither, could be better but not to bad. The saddle ...

Re: Bison Trailers

We bought one out of Moose Jaw and have been nothing but happy with our trailer. We did have a few dust issues but nothing major. The husband crawled under and sealed everything up. We had some warranty work done on the front end because the paint peeled off the first year we had it. The were more t...

Re: Equine Herpes Confirmed Case in Alberta

Saskatchewan Cutting Horse Association Home page, new cases in Sask reported. I believe this case is just suspect and has not yet been confirmed. Before people go spreading that there are "cases" they should have all the facts and should do their do dilligents and leg work with confirmati...

Re: Bison LQ owners...

We have an '09. It has an 8' living quarter with dinette. We love it and have had no problems. We did have a little dust leakage but hubby crawled under an prayfoamed what he could find. No problems now. It is very spacious and open feeling not confined like some. We would definitely buy another.

Re: Transition Bits

I use a three piece that I get from frontier. It is a light bit and they get use to the chin strap. Very soft on the mouth. We use it on everything that comes out of a snaffle and as we progress, they are ready to switch over to something else with no problems.

Re: 2 Piece or 3 Piece?

I also prefer the three-piece. Sometimes if the two-pieces aren't balanced properly they will fold up and poke them in the roof of their mouth, causing other problems. I also believe that you get a better feel with a three-piece.

Re: Bloodlines you like or dont like?

I really like the foundations stuff. Three Bars, Leo and Top Deck are my faves but I have never been able to get along with the Skipper W's.
