Re: 2012 Border Country Rodeos

Please note that for Bassano DO NOT use the 641-2575 number for entries. I am no longer on the committee. Sandy

Re: Stall Rest

My horse just came off of 8weeks of being in a small pen. Had similar problems, he was so bored.... I found that if I had the time just taking him out for 15 mins twice a day helped. Didn't really hand walk him, just took him to the front yard and let him see some new stuff, graze on the old grass, ...

Re: Best Vets For Lameness Issues

Dr. Scott at Moore and Co. Equine(Calgary) specializes in all types of lameness. I've had really good results there and so have several other barrel racers..

Re: Any Silverlining herb seller in Alberta?

i order mine direct from Silverling. On;y took 5 business days to arrive and it's a bit cheaper if your ordering a few things as they have a flat shipping rate.

Entry Etiquette

I have been entering rodeos since I was 12 yrs old. You check the entry time, you phone the number. If it rings busy, you keep trying. If you miss entries that's it. Most rodeo associations don't even answer the phone after entries close. I have felt that whom ever was on the other end of that phone...

I phoned the US border at Coutts/Sweetgrass this morning. As of right now the border is open to horses going and coming.

Re: New Ground

Thanks for the replies. It is really just a base. I have spent the last 5 yrs trying to work with "what we got". We have brought in a rototiller used for reclaimation and went as deep as we could. When we do that, it's nice ground, but give it a day to settle and it's back to concrete. Wit...

New Ground

Looking for some ideas on changing the ground this year in the Bassano Rodeo Arena. Year after year we fight with the condition of this ground. It is so hard that we have to use a huge rototiller to break it up and it only lasts for a day and then it is back to concrete. It is kind of a gravel/sand/...

Re: Places to stay with horses in Great Falls MT

King Arena just East of town 5 mins is also great. Just pull in park, find an empty pen either outside or inside and drop your money in the drop box inside the riding arena. They have power and water hook ups as well. Also you can use the arena to stretch your horse out too.

Anyone know of where to keep and ride my barrel horse in the Chandler or Maricopa area during xmas time. I will be down there with the inlaws and I feel the need to take my horse with me to keep me sane.

Re: NFR

A group of us went last year and stayed on the strip. If you have at least four people(or join with people there) to get a town car or limo is the best. About $10 per person to get to South Point. Definately the hi-light if you want to be around the who's who of rodeo. Buckle presentations and then ...

Re: Truck

Great gas mileage in mine, it's an 2006 as well. However, it now has 150000 kms on it and is falling apart. Head gaskets redone, injectors, and now somethings wrong with transmission. Maybe I just got a bad one, cause my last truck was a Ford too and had no problems. Now trading in on a dodge before...
