Sales Commission on horses

The law of the West reads that when you sell a horse for someone you are entitled to 10% of the selling price...Just wondered how much you have to do before you are "worth" that commission, or what some of your experiences are in this type of situation.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reviewing this topic. It is clear that there are many different opinions on it, all supported with different scenarios. I must commend everyone that stands up for their beliefs. There are far too many people sitting on boards that take a quick glance around the room, to see w...

"Darcy, it wasn't any one from BC who started the legal action with the CPRA. It was two cowboys from out east." - Randa Just to set things straight: Wayne Warkentin & Cody Rood were the 2 individuals seeking legal action etc. It's not a big secret...Perhaps SQ -you could contact them for yet a...

I have one or more of everything around here:Stud, gelds, mares...I would have to agree with A. Anderson about their behaviors. I have seem some girl's geldings be so ill-mannered, rammy or herd bound that it makes me cringe. I think you have to teach them all respect - and they are what you make th...

I believe the original question was if people felt that cowboys/cowgirls were actually athletes. An athlete is defined as someone who is trained to contend in games of physical strength or endurance. I would have to put some emphasis on the word trained from that phrase. It doesn’t mean that everyon...

I think we are at quite a disadvantage when you compare us to the American girls. Especially on the standard patterns - just because our outdoor riding time is so limited. You've really got me thinking now- what can we do to give us that edge when pitted against the south of the border bunch... Eric...

Don't you think it gets to be all about numbers & odds? Really - its like the Mr. Hortons a few years ago up here - when a few people (good horsewomen) started having luck with them, everybody wanted one - kind of like a fad...consequently enough of them ended up in the hands of capable, dedicat...

HI Rita, Great question! Barrel racing has turned into such a technical, tough sport that your mental game really can make or break you in pressure situations (competition runs). Some things I would suggest are: ~ Keep you and your horse calm - if this means taking slow, deep breaths in and out then...
