Re: Saddle to fit wide shouldered horse

Sorry about stealing the post, but how do you know which width of Crown C is right for your horse. Who is the expert fitter here in Alberta? Not sure if this helps, but Sherry just did this video on the Crown C's and shimming. Gives some insight on what she looks for and how she fits them. h...

Lakota Horse Trailers

Does anyone pull one or have heard feedback on them? I've heard good things from a couple people, and you sure can get a lot of bang for your buck, but I'd like a few more opinions.
Please and thank you!

Re: Barrel Horse Trainers?

I'd have to go with Rusty Quam. She rides all winter and does an excellent job!

Re: Customer Service at Irvine tack&trailer

I have always had excellent service from there as well. I had purchased a saddle from them, that didn't end up fitting, shipped it back to them, and they went above and beyond to find the right saddle and shipped it to me. Told me to ride in it as long as I needed to determine if it was the right on...

Re: Martin Crown C

When I had that problem at first with my new saddle, the martin reps in vegas told me to shim it up in the front using a ESP biofit pad or a piece of sheep skin (sherry cervi does this), they said that the reason it happens is the horse is narrower built in the front than in the back or they may ha...

Re: Martin Crown C

Ive got a question.... I got a martin during CFR (Crown C with a 6.5in gullet). When my mare trots/lopes or paws while tied, my pad comes out the back of my saddle. What causes this? Weve tried a few different pads...obviously something is NOT fitting properly...ive tried it in the 3 dif rigging po...

Re: Best Vets For Lameness Issues

I had really good luck with Dr. Huggins at Westwind Vet Clinic by Sherwood Park. My gelding has had to have 2 surgeries (for 2 separate issues) and they diagnosed him right away (after 2 other vets could not pin point the problem) and got him in for surgery promptly. Highly recommend.

Feeding Your Barrel Horse

I am trying to figure out the best nutrition plan for my barrel horse. I went back and read quite a few different threads, from 2008ish, and am still not really sure which way to go... He's an easy keeper, on pasture in the summer, and hay in the winter, coming 8 this year...Get's hotter when he goe...

Re: bit suggestions??

Hey Guys, I need a bit suggestion! I have a very very hard running little mare who has a ton of turn... with very little rate. She is not ready to be running as fast as she may think.. however as soon as you get on her face, she sticks her nose out and disengages her back end and flattens out... I ...

Saskatoon Farrier/Chiro

Can any of you girls recommend a really good farrier in the Saskatoon area? Also going to need someone who does chiro/massage? We are moving there this month and although I don't want to leave my farrier here, driving 5 hours every 6 weeks will not be a long term solution.
Thanks so much in advance!

Re: sherri cervi

I ordered mine from Coopers Country Store in Stephenville. Not sure how many they have in stock though. I would also try K&K Livestock in calgary. I ordered my Axis from them and they will probably have some in stock. That wide of gullet will definately be harder to find, you may have to go cust...

Re: directions-to bashaw rodeo grounds

If you are coming from the south you will see the grounds on the east side. Take your first right (I believe its the first after the tracks) and you will see the entrance up on your right side. Run in off the track, ground is normally on the hard side but safe.
