Re: Purchasing /Shipping saddles from the USA

Easiest is if you have somewhere close to the border on the US side and you go pick it up. Then you avoid brokerage etc..

Re: Rural Internet Service

I have something called the Globesurfer III. There is also the Rocket Hub. They plug into the wall and you get wifi wireless all in your house. I love it! It is also pretty fast. You can google them or ask Telus, Rogers or whoever you use if they have something similar. I had one of those sticks bef...

Re: New Ground

Kit Kat - the article is inthe June 2010 edition of Barrel Horse News. He says he likes a sandy loam which is 50/50 mixture of clay and sand. He also believes moisture is the key to keeping good ground (to hold it together). It is a pretty long article. If you know someone who gets the BHN, see if t...

Re: New Ground

Hi Kit Kat, I have tried also to google it and I thought it would be easy to find. I guess not. I never throw my copies of BHN away so I am sure I have it here somewhere. I will take a look and see if I can find that issue.

Re: New Ground

There was an article a while back in the Barrel Horse News by Chuck Dunn (I think it was him) about ground. It was a really good article. Of course it is more referring to barrel racing ground than rodeo ground but a great article none the less. He prefers a sandy loam. He talks about the mix and ra...

Re: Minerals/Supplements

Hi there, all our horses get Hoffman's mineral everyday. We also give flax to them all. I also have used Silver Lining Herbs on different ones. The training mix is great. Depending on what they need at the time is which one I have used.

Re: Thank you jackpot hosts!

Great post Michelle! Thanks to all these people and their efforts! For those who are so quick to complain - put on some yourself and see how hard it really is! I read an article by Charmayne James once and it said if you were not happy with the barrel race you went to be gracious and just don't go b...

Re: Unsportsmanlike Conduct

This is an interesting discussion. It is unfortunate some people's behaviour is so bad sometimes. I agree most people are there to fun etc. I have seen some behaviours which make my jaw drop. It gives the sport a bad name sometimes. Something else to be aware of is sometimes there are sponsors and e...

Re: COLLIC?? Why, how, where, etc???

Like Kristen said - depends on the type of colic. When we notice we have a colicy horse, we give them some probiotics (Probios) and a shot of banamine. Has seemed to work for us on more than one occasion. I always carry some on the road with me. 8o)

Big kudos to the commitee and all the volunteers. What a great event they put on. Can't remember everything but Ashley Potvin won the weekend 1D average on Six. Dawn Goebel won the short go 1D and the saddle on Grinch or Echo can't remember which, she had great runs on both, she was second in the av...

Re: North American Barrel Racing Challenge Question and Answ

I agree that $150.00 is cheap for a booth. I also agree that workers are expensive too. For smaller individuals it is tough to compete, most would work their own booth. With the ecomonics the way they are right now, business isn't what it used to be for alot of these places. I guess everyone's looki...

Re: North American Barrel Racing Challenge Question and Answ

So if an individual gets a sponsor for at least $250.00 and this sponsor would also like to set up a booth it will cost an additional $150.00 to that sponsor...Right? (because they are not sponsoring the futurity) I could see some people losing some sponsorship if there is no incentive for the NABRC...

Re: North American Barrel Racing Challenge Question and Answer

Just wondering...For the people who are getting sponsors to help cover the entry fee cost, what kind of exposure can these sponsors get. If the company had a banner, could it go on the arena or in the arena area? Would they get announced as a sponsor? If a sponsor would like to set up a booth at the...

Re: CBHI Stallions

Just wanted to say thanks to the people involved with the auction. Although I got outbid, I really think these people did a bang up job keeping bidders informed and giving oppurtunites to up bids. They deserve alot of thanks for all their hard work and the time spent to pull the auction off. So a bi...
