Re: Bringing in U.S. Clinician

I have had the experience of bringing a U.S. Clinician in regularly into Canada along with Judges. You need to utilize form 5517 (labour market opinion) along with form 5510(employment contract). This has to be done by the employer and can't be done on the US side. Once you have completed the forms ...

Re: Hosting Clinic by U.S. Instructor.

You need to get a labour market opinion. There is a form "application for a labour market opinion (LMO) Agricultural Stream". This is what I used the last two times I brought a clinician up. Here is the link http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/cgi-bin/search/eforms/index.cgi?app=prfl&frm=em...

Re: abra entry fees

It isn't unusual at most high end equestrian facilities that there is a haul in fee (in this case a self penning fee). At a horse show, if you are showing and don't have a stall you pay a day fee. Not really comparing but I guess all I am saying is that such a fee isn't unusual at a quality facility...

Re: Growing Tails?

We have had the odd reiner rub there mane out on the fences and the Micro Tek just rubbed on 2 -3 times a week works great. It is a mane and tail builder and it works!

Re: Growing Tails?

We show reiners and it was actually a person from the arab show world that taught us this trick to growing long tails and thicken them. Wash the tail well and when dry work in Micro-Tek (by eqyss) conditioner/builder (use to use MTG but this works way better but costs 3 times as much). You are going...

Barrel Covers

I've had a request from one of our sponsors to have barrel covers made. Anyone know where I can get them done in Alberta?

Laser Engraving on Leather - WHO?

Does anyone know of someone in Alberta that can laser engrave the fenders on a barrel saddle. I know I can get them stamped but thought the laser may be an alternative to look at this time.

Re: Martin Saddles

Initially didn't like my crown c but when I changed horses I started to love it. The horse I hated it on had a really really hard stop, although under himself, wasn't free in his shoulders, so it would really send me forward. The horse I loved it on really got deep in the ground and was very free in...

Re: Requirements For Bringing Horse Home From TEXAS

Just brought a horse back from Texas last week, and the previous post by Linda is absolutely correct for the Coutts crossing (and if you can get accross there, anywhere else should be easy). As per usual you need your health papers, coggins test, bill of sale (if purchased in U.S,. but doesn't hurt ...

Re: Getting friend to bring horse across border?

I generally bring 2 -4 horses (purchased in the U.S.) back every November for friends and never have had any problems. We have never brokered them nor have we met with a vet. From the previous posts it sounds like there is now a vet to see at the border, is this correct? Also has it became more diff...

Re: Reining trainer Edmonton area

I Agree, Terry Jarrett does a great job! we have used him for the last 7 years and when we brought our 3 year olds home they were ready to be started on barrels. He gets them very bridle broke (light in the face and the reins mean something) as well as working off of legs. If he knows the horse is m...
