Re: Farrier$$$$

Well my farrier charges me $40 to trim, $100 for fronts and $140 for all four. I'm happy with my farrier, so I won't complain. No hoof, No horse!

Re: Equine Information Document-please read

It's interesting. As far as I understand if the horse has ever had Bute at anytime in it's life it can't be sold for slaughter. As well as Ventipulmin.

Re: Treeless Barrel Saddles-Bob Marshalls

I have a trail pommel and cantle on mine. It fits a mutton backed horse way better than the regular barrel model. I had a barrel model and I found it held me in more plus it didn't fit everything. A lot of my mutton withered ones would get pinched in the pommel. I ride and school all my horses in it...

Re: No Dogs Allowed @ 2010 SBRA FINALS.

I would personally like to see this rule posted for children as well, as there are those people who show up with children and let them run amuck and they get up to all kinds of mischeif 8o) :naughty: :naughty: You must not have any children. What about the people who bring horses that "get up ...

Re: Pawing while tied to the Trailer

Why don't you try kick chains. I know you posted you thought they looked inhumane but they really don't. They work the same as the horse shoe around the ankle. For $15.00 it's worth a try. (You might need them for both legs)The ones from Greenhawk look nicer than the leather because they are fleecy....

Re: Relaxants

Herbs are drugs. Unregulated ones. They can be just as dangerous as conventional drugs. I see no problem with people asking what they use herbal or otherwise. Sometimes hearing what worked for other people (good or bad) can really help your decision.

Re: putting weight on a horse

That data you quoted is from 1982. The equine nutrition industry has came a very very long way since then. Some of the calcium in Beet pulp is not available, but it is so high in Ca that the residual will still offset a high phosphorus feed. The fiber in beat pulp is very digestible. I fed my older ...

Re: Wild On Corona

I really like mine. He is coming four. He is going to be about 15.2hh, nice hip, sensible and very smart. He also is naturally low headed and very quick. Mine looks more cowy then running but I think that was from the dam. I thought Wild on Corona was a very light, easy mover, so I think he passed t...
