Drumheller Rodeo

Does anyone know what the ground is like? I heard they cancelled the barrels because of bad ground in 2005. Was it any better last year?

Strangles is extremely infectious you could not pay me enough to take un-vaccinated horses to a barn where strangles is. I don't even think I would take a vaccinated horse to a barn where there is a strangles outbreak. If this is guy is telling you to risk infecting your horses I'd be looking for a ...

I am a Larry Coats fan. He hand makes all his saddles and are guaranteed to fit. If not, he will build you another. I also know the waiting list is fairly long, but worth the wait. I have two. One is a full quarter horse bar saddle, which fits a chubbier, thicker horse and a 3/4 horse bar saddle wh...

You know I don't want to be negative. One time I was riding this colt and every time you weren't paying attention she'd try to dump you. You had to be careful getting on, you had to be careful getting off. When she bucked she bucked and she would plant you right through her ears and you would land h...

From what I've heard you need one heck of a back bone for Sharon Camarillo, but I've also heard she gets the job done. I would think Jackie Dube or her sister would be great and of course Charmayne James.

saddle trees

I've talked to a lot of saddle makers and they will all tell you something different. From what I gather the gullet in a saddle is mostly pertaining to the wither and shoulder area fit and the bars are generaly for the back. Usually the gullet with is related to the bars in a saddle. For example I t...

buying horses

If the seller offered you full option to a complete vet check then you are out of luck and if they didn't I can't see why you are complaining because that should have raised some questions regarding health issues. I feel bad for the seller in this case because they are the ones that have to deal wit...

I couple months ago my husband was watching wrestling on T.V. and I watched Triple H (or one of those guys) beat up a woman. But I guess violence towards women doesn't count.

Canadian City Bans Rodeo

I found this interesting article in Barrel Horse News: At the prompting of the Vancouver Humane Society, the Vancouver City Council voted May 16 to add certain rodeo events to its list of prohibited business activities. The council prohibited calf roping, steer roping, and steer wrestling, as well a...

Wild on Corona

I have a Wild on Corona baby and he is a beauty as well as quite the individual. I decided to ride my old barrel mare who hasn't been ridden in a few years down the rode allowance and the little one was tagging behind when got over a half a mile down the allowance and he suddenly decided he didn't w...
