I believe(but am not certain) that the Northlands Futurity isn't part of the Canadian Barrel Futurities this year because they didn't have their request in on time or perhaps it wasn't complete/didn't qualify. You are among the very many... it's hard to find any info. It's listed on the Farm Fair International's website schedule but there is no additional information that I can find as of late. Perhaps contact them directly.

So, what are the parameters of "qualifying" in the Cdn Barrel Futurities rules?

like I said, I don't know what happened, I just THINK it's not "approved" but I am not sure. perhaps email CBF or Northlands if you would really like to know. this is Kim Gerwatoski :) I'd prefer not to have a conversation on here. I was just sharing what information I know.

Good afternoon, glad to hear that there is interest in our new futurity, just want to clarify that we are in discussions with the Canadian Barrel Racing Futurities and are looking forward to being a part of that program in the future, but thought it best to host the first one independant of that organization.

Here are some details regarding the futurity, and if you have any further questions please feel free to contact me directly at dfiddler@northlands.com

Date: Thursday, November 7th, 2013
Time: 3:00 p.m.
Location: Hall D Arena

New to the line up by popular demand! The Northlands Barrel Racing Futurity is open to any horse which is a foal of 2008/2009 ( 4 & 5 years Old). Futurity will be TWO go rounds and an average. Champions will be declared on a TWO run Average. There is a $10,000 purse.
Provided they meet the criteria, any horse that sells or sold during last year’s and this year’s Bloodstock sale that competes at Farmfair International in the Barrel Racing Futurity may be eligible for added incentives.

Just wondering from those who went to this last year how was it? Is the ground and arena set up good?

Thanks in advance
