Taking horses East

Postby reinhardt4 » Thu Jun 15, 2006 8:57 am

Does anyone have any ideas on what one should give a horse to get them ready to go out east.
The High school rodeo finals are in Springfield, Illionois, and its really hot and humid.

Ive heard Vitmain B12 and lots of electrolyes, have you heard of anything else?

I haven't heard of much else my own self. Last year at Nationals we just used electrolytes and hosed horses off numerous times a day to keep their body temperatures down. However, that was in Gillette, I have a feeling Springfield may be very different! We decided previously to not go down there this year primarily because of the length of the trip and because we had done it before but also because of the heat! I hope you get some good advice and have a wonderful time!
