Trailer Tires

Postby bri » Mon Mar 30, 2015 11:44 am

Was hoping people could give me opinions on trailer tires as I have a 3 horse LQ trailer that needs new tires, right now it has LT tires on it but not sure if I should be switching to ST as I read this is better for on trailers. Only problem with this is that the max speed rating on ST tires is just over 100 kms, meaning I couldn't go 110 on the highway. Also wondering opinions on going with a 14 ply versus 10 ply. Any other opinions on brands would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use "G" rated tires. They can be rough if you keep them at 110 psi (as recommended) when you're not fully loaded, but they sure hold up well. I just keep them at 95 psi unless I really load up the trailer.

I travel tons, and got sick of being on the side of the I5 changing flats.
